Was invited out to dinner at the Kingdom Tower in Riyadh Saudi Arabia along with my work partner Major Kerr. Our gracious host LT Maan of the Saudi Arabian National Guard treated us to a wonderful evening, allowing us to join him in breaking his daily fast during Ramadan. The atmosphere was incredible, we had a beautiful window seat, allowing us to look out over the Kingdom and giving us a bird’s eye view of the sunset which of course set of the wonderful feast. Here are a few shots of the views from that wonderful evening.
Greetings to all who take the time to read this, My names is Joseph W. Knights, I am currently stationed in Saudi Arabia as a Security Advisor and working on my 23rd year in the United States Army. I am at the end of my military career and I am attempting to wind down and into a semblance of a normal civilian life. I have a beautiful wife and 3 wonderful sons who all mean the world to me. I am into photography because I enjoy it and I am definitely enjoying the new found ability to create, analyze and observe the artistic side of myself. I have no clue as to how to describe my work as there are so many different paths I wish to explore. I will say there is a wonderful intimacy to portrait work, coupled with the objective detachment; it is unlike anything else I have ever experienced. As a result of this new found desire, I am currently enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography and very much enjoying the learning process. My wife is my biggest advocate, (whether she actually sees I can be a potentially good artist or she sees that it makes me happy and ultimately keeps me closer to home, I may never know!) Irregardless of the reason, she diligently spends hours with me, assisting me in my endeavors, which is fine by me as it is just another aspect of photography I enjoy. If I actually manage to take a few decent photo’s along the way, so much the better. With that said, I am reaching out to take on new challenges and explore my deeper creative self and artistic passions. I look for models or just ordinary people who have an energy that can surge through my lens and have a passion for being photographed. If you would like to share in my endeavor or even have ideas of your own, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I, like every other photographer enjoys feedback, positive or negative as long as it is honest and respectful. Whether it is technical, emotional or from the clouds of imagination, I read it with enthusiasm. I do ask that you be polite and respectful of your comments, both to me, the models and friends I photograph. I always appreciate adding my photo’s as a favorite, but if you do not have an active photo stream, or your photo stream is rude, crude or fake do not feel offended when I block you, however I doubt that someone of that nature would not have made it this far with the reading.
